CanShell™ is a family adventure, run from our home in the Lake Tapps area of Washington state. We made the first CanShell™ for ourselves, because old school coozies didn’t fit in many golf cart, boat, and car cup holders. The design itself was a collaboration between Eric, a mechanical engineer with more than 25 years of experience with 3-D printing, and our son Liam, who is 9 and just learning to use CAD.

The ones we made for ourselves worked so well, we decided to make it into a family learning adventure about entrepreneurship. Besides basic economics, we are doing all kinds generational knowledge transfer and skill building… CAD, 3-D Printing, Web design, and more. With a little bit of luck, maybe we will even earn something for the college fund!
